The Q2 Coasts & Country program is funded through the Queensland Government Department of Environment & Resource Management. The Dairy Q2 Coasts & Country program is focused on assisting dairy farmers in the Great Barrier Reef catchments to improve management practices on-farm, through the dairy industry’s Farm Management System, Dairying Better ‘n Better for Tomorrow.
The core activities for the program include:
· Water Quality Grants to address high water quality risk projects on-farm - applications close 26 October ‘10
· Soil & Nutrient Management Planning Service – applications close 26 October ‘10
· One-on-one Support to identify risks & create an Action Plan
· Priority Workshops
· Property Mapping
The program is available to all dairy farmers within the following catchments:
· Burnett Mary
· Fitzroy Basin
· Burdekin Dry Tropics
· Wet Tropics
