Natural Disaster Recovery Assistance
 
Looking after yourself after a disaster and during stressful times some useful factsheets available through the Disaster Assist website.  
 
Urgent Flood Notice
The QDO has sent information packs to dairy farmers in flood affected areas on available assistance and support services, including newly declared areas. If you have not received a package and need assistance and information call the QDO Office 3236 2955.
    
The QDO team with support from staff from Dairy Australia have been contacting all dairy farmers in flood affected areas to ascertain their welfare, flood impacts and urgent needs. If you have not been contacted yet and need assistance please call the QDO.
      
If you require help to apply for financial assistance please contact either your factory field staff, Belinda Haddow or the QDO. Please do not self assess your eligibility for assistance – if you are not sure please seek advice.

Safe Food Queensland: SFQ have two officers operating through this flood emergency to provide advice to farmers and processors as required. Melanie Taylor 0408 797 750 and David Wilkinson 0409 117 321
 
Health and Safety: All farmers are advised to exercise caution in undertaking clean up and repairs in relation to health and safety particularly with electrical equipment, damaged machinery and infrastructure and diseases such as Leptospirosis.
 
Producers should also be thinking about milking machine testing and herd testing as part of your recovery program. Free services are available.  Contact the QDO on 3236 2955.
