The SEQ Sub-Regional group has been exploring options for managing soil fertility and pasture production through healthier soils over the past decade. Farmers in the region have seen favourable results from the change in management practices and like to share the results with other regional farmers.
The SEQ SRG invite you to attend an on-farm session in the Beaudesert region to investigate some of the options for improved soil health. The Cox family have been using a fertiliser programme based on chicken litter for over 20 years now and continue to see benefits in the system. Their dairy pastures are considered some of the best in the region and farmers in the region have an opportunity to look further at their pasture management system.
Peter Beale, (Senior Land Services Officer - Pastures), from the LLS iSoils in Actionn NSW will join the session at the Cox family farm to provide some of the scientific and economic factors regarding soil nutrient and health management. Peter has over 35 years experience as an agronomist with the NSW DPI/LLS.
