WHEN: 7 September 10am-1.30pm
WHERE: Miriam Vale Community Hall, Blomfield Street, Miriam Vale
The biosecurity planning workshop will be run by QDO Executive Officer Eric Danzi alongside QDAF staff members Lawrence Gavey (Johnes disease expert) and Malcolm Macleod (ticks expert).
During the workshop, farmers will develop a biosecurity plan tailored to their farm and specific circumstances. These plans will then be signed off and farmers will have a procedure to deliver animals to the meat works from 1 October 2017 and to maintain their johnes disease free status. Most importantly, the workshop will provide direction to each farmer on the main activities they need to undertake to manage biosecurity risks on their farm.
After the workshop, farmers will be given the option of having a free Johnes test slurry test undertaken on their farm if they wish. QDAF staff will collect the samples and undertake the tests at a suitable time with each farmer.
The workshop is for QDO members only so please do not miss this opportunity. Free meals will be provided at all workshops. RSVP to Kerrie at QDO either by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 3236 2955.
What to bring: Those attending biosecurity workshops should bring their laptop if they have one.
