As part of my commitment to keeping members up to date with the inner workings of their QDO, every month I will be doing a short article on a particular area of our work.
The review of the QDO structure officially began at the recent State Council meeting held in Toogoolawah on 17 August 2016. The aim of the review will be to develop a new regional structure that more accurately reflects the reality of the modern Queensland dairy industry. QDO maintains an open mind in considering the future make-up of the existing State Council with all options remaining on the table.
A major driver for review will be to ensure QDO improves the way in which it engages and consults with its members. It is essential that QDO get the balance right so they can accurately represent the interests of their members whilst balancing the delivering practical outcomes for the industry. You have my commitment that the organisation is devoted to a member based consultation process to ensure we have a QDO structure that is in line with members’ expectations. Members will be updated every step of the way with an aim to finalise the process will by the end of the year.
